Al Elmore
Senior Pastor
Al grew up in Gordo, Alabama, and surrendered to the ministry at the age of seventeen at his home church, First Baptist Gordo. He holds degrees from the University of Mobile and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Prior to coming on staff as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Mt. Olive, Al served at churches in Lima, Ohio; Mobile, Alabama; Boaz, Alabama; Pensacola, Florida; Jackson, Mississippi; and Grapevine, Texas. He was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Mobile through the School of Leadership Development and is certified in “Leading from your Strengths” and “Different by Design” from Ministry Insights.
Al and his wife Lori have been married since 1985, learning to appreciate their differences and being Happily Incompatible. They enjoy sharing information they have gleaned through the years, leading in marriage retreats and classes, as well as Al speaking in Revivals and Conferences. They have two adult daughters: Meagen and Amberly, a son-in-law, Blake, and enjoy being Pop and Lolly to their granddaughter, Harper Grace.
Darryl Jolley
Executive Pastor
Bro. Darryl gave his life to Jesus at the age of eight at First Baptist Church of Athens, Alabama. He surrendered to the ministry at the age of thirty-three. He has a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama and a Master's of Divinity with a specialization in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Bro. Darryl has been a member of First Baptist Church Mt. Olive for 24 years. Before becoming the full-time Children's Minister in 2005, he served part-time in the children's department and was a deacon in the church. He has served as Minister of Administration for the past 9 years. In 2024 Bro. Darryl transitioned to Executive Pastor. The Executive Pastor serves as the chief operating officer, chief financial officer, and executive ministry leader of FBCMO.
Bro. Darryl and his wife, Vicki, have been married since 1987. They enjoy working side by side on mission projects in our community. They also serve as directors of events for our 55+ group (Senior Adults). Darryl and Vicki have two daughters: Kyndal and Madison, a son-in-law, Cody (Madison), and enjoy spending time with their granddaughter, Everleigh.
Scott Crews
Youth Director
Scott has lived around the Mt. Olive area most of his life. He gave his life to the Lord at age 7 at North Gardendale Baptist Church. He moved to Louisiana through high school and then back to Alabama.
Before coming to FBCMO, Scott was the Youth Director and Children’s Director at North Gardendale Baptist Church. He has served in the Youth Director role at FBCMO for the last 5 years. Scott has a passion for the youth to help raise them to be future church leaders.
Scott and his wife, Candace, have been married since January 2003. They have two sons, Caleb and Kody. Candace supports Scott’s ministry and helps him when needed. They love trips with the youth such as Gatlinburg, the beach, Six Flags, and DNOW weekends.
Jami Sheets
Children's Director
Jami comes to us from Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham where she has been Director of Preschool and Family Ministry since 2019 and prior to that, she was at FBC Pleasant Grove from 2005-2019 as Director of Preschool/Children’s Ministry, along with being Daycare Director. Jami is coming back home to FBCMO as she was here from 1998-2005, and was a K3 teacher in the weekday program as well as serving in the student/college ministry, and ladies ministry. She is married to Ben Sheets, and they have 3 daughters, Sarah Nicole Smith age 21, Maddie Grace Sheets age 18, and Sara Kate Sheets age 11.
Amanda Standridge
Worship Leader
Amanda gave her life to Jesus at the age of 19, and she immediately jumped into serving in college and worship ministries. While attending a women’s worship conference for future worship leaders, the Lord made His call clear to her by saying, “Amanda, I've called you to be a wife/mother, worship leader, and teacher.” She has a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry from Liberty University.
Prior to joining our team in May 2023, Amanda was previously on staff at HighPoint Community Church and Beechwood Baptist, and served in the choir, praise team, and as a soloist at Gardendale First Baptist Church.
Amanda has been married to her husband Brad since 2009 and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Avah-Grace Louise and Madilyn (Maddie) Faith.
